San Antonio: A City on the Rise
The case for building the thing that makes the next thing possible.
San Antonio has never lacked talent. What it lacked, for a long time, was a reason for that talent to stay — the density of opportunity that lets a twenty-six-year-old leave one good job for a better one without leaving the city.
That is a build problem, not a marketing problem. You get it by putting the ingredients within walking distance of one another: places to work, people to learn from, capital that answers the phone, and a downtown worth being in after six o'clock.
Everything I have put my time into here is a version of that same bet. The city on the rise is not a slogan; it is a sequence, and we are somewhere in the middle of it.
